OUR KEY PROJECTS

PAVITRA - Let’s Talk Periods

Pitrashish Foundation understands that a woman's menstrual health is one of the most important issues for her healthy life and also for the well being of her own family and community, because woman is the pillar and strength of every family. But we all know that menstruation is still considered a taboo in the Indian society. Illiteracy, poverty and lack of awareness on menstrual hygiene management are the main reasons behind this. Our Nation still witness most of the underprivileged rural women using homestyle alternatives like newspaper, dried leaves, dirty clothes etc which are increasing the health risks among them. So based on the project “Pavitra-Let’s Talk Periods”, Pitrashish Foundation has taken the nobel initiative of breaking the stigma that surrounds menstruation by spreading proper knowledge on menstrual hygiene among the financially weak rural women and girls and make them recognize the importance of hygiene during their menstrual cycle. he mission of Pitrashish Foundation is to break the cultural restrictions and taboos around menstruation among the financially backward rural women and adolescent girls and to enable them to talk freely about it, and also to increase the access of sanitary napkins among them
